Spine Health Pilates

 

A remedial level Pilates course that will focus on counterbalancing the stresses that our current lifestyles put on the spine.

More and more people are turning to Pilates as a form of exercise because they have been suffering from back pain. They are often also given advice by medical practitioners to attend Pilates classes. Great! But where do we start?
 A gym class or group reformer setting  may feel a bit over-whelming and not cater to your needs.

The aim of Spine Health Pilates is to work at a remedial pace and explore in depth a range of factors that may be causing you pain.

This class is also great for those simply wanting to care of themselves - Prevention is better than Cure!  

On the course some of the factors we will look at will be - 

 

  • Addressing daily lifestyle patterns

  • Core strenghtening

  • Myofascial Release

  • Movement of the spine

  • Spine focused stretches

  • Other areas of the body which can affect your spine health

  • How your posture affects your health

  • Relaxation techniques

    (Please note that if you have known back pain issues that a medical approval from a Gp will be needed)
